Obsessions, premier album de Notturno, ne pouvait avoir de meilleur nom. Le black metal dépressif y commence avec douceur pour occuper vos pensées. Et une fois que le point de non retour a été franchi, il est dévastateur. Le champ des émotions exprimées par Kjiel est immense : colère, détresse et déprime hantent chacun de ses cris ; ses chuchotements traduisent une fatigue qui ne pourra jamais être soulagée — je comprends mieux pourquoi Imber Luminis a travaillé avec Eyelessight. Magnifique.

Loved the previous album. Spleen is even better! Orphans of Dusk even evoke Metallica’s One and The Call of Ktulu on Victim of a Vampire. For a band so indebted to the past, they revel in every influence and provide an extremely cathartic listening experience. Truly exceptional.
